How do I update my patched Mac?
- Make sure your back up is current. Patched software can be volatile during updating and having a solid backup makes sure your important data is preserved.
- Run Security or incremental OS update from System Preferences.
- Navigate to Applications>Utilities>OpenCore or search OpenCore in spotlight and open the application.
- OpenCore may prompt to be updated, this step requires downloading a new version from the web and dragging it to replace the current version, this is not recommended by unless the current version fails during the following steps. Click Ignore Once.
- Next click Post Install Root Patch.
- Then Click Start Root Patching.
- The system will ask you to relaunch as root? Click yes.
- When prompted enter the password for your Mac.
- Open Core will close and reopen. If it prompts again to download OpenCore update click ignore once.
- You then will see a window with text scrolling through it.
- When prompted reboot your computer.
- Your computer should now function normally.
